PÜRTREK LAUNCHES THE FIRST TREK POLE + WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM AT THE BIG GEAR SHOW IN UTAH THIS AUGUST 3-5TH, 2021
After working tirelessly for almost four years, PurTrek, the first ever 2-in-1 trek pole water filtration system, will launch this August 3-5th at the Big Gear Show in Park City, Utah.
This revolutionary outdoor product, a hiking/trek pole with a built-in pump style water filtration system provides easy access to hydrate instantly. Gone are the days of carrying a separate water filter and cumbersome filtration gear. Now you can lighten your pack and enjoy the benefits hydrating without the extra weight.
PurTrek founder and CEO, Kyle Stringham remembers how he came up with the idea. “While leading a 21-mile backpack trip, I remember dreading the task to filter gallons of water for the scout troop,” explains Kyle.
The question bubbled up. “What could be an easy and dependable yet simplistic option to hydration? That’s when the idea hit me!” That was the impetus to design the first-ever trekking pole with a built-in water filtration system. PurTrek draws water from one end of the trek pole, through a filter, ready to drink.
PurTrek’s design is durable and reliable. Constructed of 7075 aircraft aluminum with locking tabs and high strength durable polymer plastic, user-friendly telescope construction, a series of seals, valves and O-rings that ensures clean drinking water.
PurTrek’s main filtration is a high quality Hollow Fiber filter. The same proven technology used by the largest and most successful brands on the market today. The Hollow Fiber filter removes 99.999% of waterborne bacteria, including E. coli and salmonella, and 99.999% waterborne protozoa, including giardia and cryptosporidium. The filter has the ability to also remove possible micro-plastics.
Utilizing a two-stage filter system with a large particulate pre-filter located at the lower filter inlet, PurTrek delivers almost 2x more water per pump than its competitors, PurTrek filters easily up to 2000 liters per filter.
“As the first of its kind, I don't think NASA could have done better,” jokes Kyle. “My standards are very high and it was applied to every inch of our product.”
